Last week, Dr Alasdair Allan, Minister for Learning, Science and Scotland’s Languages, announced funding for a programme of professional learning for Scottish computing teachers, amounting to £200,000 per year for the next two years.
To help assist the project officers who will plan and implement a national CPD programme for Computing, CAS Scotland are conducting a survey before we break off for the Summer holidays of your current situation and what your needs and priorities are for a Computing specific programme of professional learning.

This survey will take 10 to 20 minutes of your time to complete depending on your answers but will make sure that any professional learning that’s organised really will meet needs in your local area. After securing these additional funds we want to make sure that all teachers get the full benefit of the additional £200,000 per year funding for Computing Science specific CPD.
During the survey you’ll be asked about CfE time and course structures, how confident you are with various aspects of the broad general education and the senior phase at National 4 and 5 as well as what your CPD priorities are and whether you would consider becoming a lead teacher for your area with the additional funding and learning opportunities that go along with it.
