We are offering a free 2-day intensive professional learning course for teachers of Computing Science in April/May 2018.
The course will focus on using Python to deliver the outcomes in the revised Software Design and Development (Higher) Unit. The course will be delivered at Scotland’s digital skills academy, CodeClan, by their team of experienced software development instructors.
The objective of the course is to give teachers in Scotland a way to improve their coding skills to be better able to deal with the demands of the Higher Computing Science course.
Applicants should be familiar with at least one programming language and have had previous experience of delivering National 5 and/or Higher Computing Science. This course will most likely suit practitioners who are relatively new to Python or are considering delivering Computing Science Software Development units using Python in the near future.
Any Computing Science teacher currently employed in Scotland can apply – local authority or private sector. Teachers from other disciplines may also apply, however CS teachers will be given priority.
The course will run at CodeClan’s Edinburgh office, from 10am – 4pm each day, on the following dates:
- Fri, 20th and Sat, 21st April
- Fri, 27th and Sat, 28th April
- Fri, 4th and Sat, 5th April
