There is a great item on the work of the Royal Society of Edinburgh/BCS exemplification project, lead by Jeremy Scott, in the Communications of the ACM (Association of Computing Machinery). This shows the great work carried out by Jeremy and Alan Bundy and to have this highlighted in such a prestigious international publication is fantastic. Well done all!
Good to read this. It has always been a threat in every school that I have taught in that they would remove the Computing department and allow others to manage the delivery of IT literacy. In a lot of cases, staff were/are not adequately equipped or interested enough to deliver appropriate literacy skills. Luckily, my current school is backing the delivery of Computing Science and programming; and I am able to support this from as early as P1 using Scratch.
