Digital Learning & Teaching Consultation Events

A formal public consultation around the development of a Digital Learning and Teaching Strategy for Scotland was announced at the Scottish Learning Festival. The consultation will run until 17 December 2015 and is open to all.

There are a number of face-to-face conversation events, which will provide an opportunity for deeper dialogue and discussion about the strategy.  The events are being hosted by the National Digital Learning Forum at the following locations. To book a place please email adele.mitchinson@educationscotland.gsi.gov.uk stating the date and venue you wish to attend, along with any dietary or special requirements.

Events will run from 10.00-14.00, with lunch being provided from 13.00 onwards.

There will also be a series of Glow Meets on the 3rd, 5th and 6th of November (details to be confirmed).

The events will focus on the following key themes:

  • Empowering leaders of change to drive innovation and investment in digital technology for learning and teaching
  • Improving access to digital technology for all learners
  • Ensuring curriculum and assessment relevance in a digital context
  • Extending the skills and confidence of teachers in the appropriate and effective use of digital technology

Participants will be asked to consider:

  • For each of the themes identified, do participants agree with the priorities for action outlined? Are there other actions that should be considered
  • Are the four key themes identified the right ones to focus on? Are there other themes that should be considered?

Conversations will be facilitated by members of the Digital Learning and Teaching programme team. A record of key points will be recorded and considered along with the formal consultation responses. Participants will also be encouraged to visit the website and contribute their views.
